ABOUT ME
My name is Jacqueline van Putten, I was born (1966) and raised in Kerkrade, in the South of Limburg. I’m the inspiring force behind Atel’je van Putten, a place where creativity comes to life amidst the greenery and ancient history.

MY CREATIONS
With clay as my medium, I give shape to commissions and let my creativity run freely. In my specialist area (model and portrait sculpting) I mainly focus on human anatomy. More recent work is shaped more organically, and depicts transiency and imperfection “the decay is tangible, when the soul shows its vulnerability”.
Sometimes I fully let go of human form, with robust objects as a result. Characteristic for my sculptures is a sense of soul, which creates a connection between humans and emotion. Each piece tells its own story, reflects a part of me, and invites the viewer to contemplate and wonder.

SHARING MY KNOWLEDGE
I welcome five groups of enthusiastic course participants on a weekly basis, whom I take on a journey of discovery into the world of sculpture art. I’m convinced that in the power of creation and expression… lies a world of self-reflection, personal growth, a sense of connection, and most of all – fun.
All courses are suitable for both beginners and more advanced ceramists, in order to (re)discover how a sculpture is built out of clay. We work in small groups, so I can ensure personal attention and guidance on an expert level. We work hard, with passion and pleasure in a space with ambiance. Diversity within these groups ensures a pleasant dynamic and offers the possibility to learn from one another. My passion isn’t limited within the walls of my atelier. I enjoy resonating with like-minded people, and I collaborate in different (art- and culture- related) projects regularly. Besides this, I offer customized workshops as a creative entrepreneur for healthcare facilities, schools, associations, and private requests. Lastly, I support companies in shaping their team-events in a unique and creative way.
